February Favourites

A new month means new styles and new staple pieces for your wardrobe. But with so many options out there this month, it can be hard to decide just what to add to your closet. So the team at Fashion Collective decided to share what their must have items are for February.

My statement piece at the moment is definitely my huge, orange patterned scarf. I wear very neutral coloured things, so I find that a bright, patterned scarf is a great way to incorporate a little edge of uniqueness to an otherwise plain outfit. Also, big scarves like this are great for winter because they can double as an impromptu shawl/blanket in classrooms that are somewhat reminiscent of the arctic.- Sarah

It can be hard to find the motivation to put together an entire outfit when all you’ll be doing for most of the day is walking around in the cold with your coat on. An easy way to add a little glam to those dull winter days is with some accent jewelry! These are some of my go- to earrings with my every day look, simply because they are something that can be incorporated into any type of outfit and can be a subtle and classic accessory that you don’t even have to think about. They’re classy, modest, and best of all; they don’t get caught on things like your scarf! A simple silver or gold set of dainty earrings usually compliments any outfit nicely. Try the jewelry section in Forever 21 or H & M for some wallet friendly accent purchases. – Kinza

My staple item for any outfit has to be a wide waist belt. If, like me, you have a naturally small waist or if you want to create that hourglass figure, one of these, paired with a plain, coloured top helps to emphasize that. Though I tend to go for more bolder colours with my tops, such as teal, and pair it with a dark coloured belt, a brightly coloured belt or one with a fancy buckle never fails to turn some heads. The belt pictured is my favourite wide waist belt that I always pair with beige tops. – Kristine
